Before ordering this assay, ensure that a Von Willebrand Screen (VWF:Ag, VWF:CB and VWF:RCo)  has been ordered previously or with this assay.

The Von Willebrand Multimer Assay should only be ordered if the patient has had a previous Von Willebrand’s Screen that is abnormal or discrepant. If necessary, consult a Haematologist.

Must arrive in the laboratory within 1 hr of collection.

LAB NOTES:

1. Seperate plamsa and freeze at -70degC.
2. Send to testing laboratory on dry ice. Do not pack dry ice in a sealed container. Use appropriate PPE
