Serum is preferred, however lithium heparin plasma may be used for this test.

For any RWH after-hour requests;

1. Contact the clinician to ascertain if the sample is urgent.

2.Ìý±õ´Ú yes, then organise a courier to RCH. Call RCH Biochemistry and let them know that a sample is coming across for tumour HCG.

     If no, then send with next courier to RCH.
