Plasma- Lithium heparin or Serum -Neutral tube (Note: Gel tube is NOT suitable). Collect specimen 2 -4 hours after dose.

LAB NOTES:

Contact requesting Doctor. Determine if the specimen can be sent with the routine weekly interstate dispatch or if it is urgent and must be sent on next working day. If so, notify CSR Co-ordinator.

Centrifuge, separate plasma or serum.

Store and transport  serum or plasma at 2-8 °C
