• By Appointment only. Please ring Andrology Laboratory at 8345 3992 prior to collection.
• For urgent samples, consult the Andrology Lab before collection. Please call 0479185113 for urgent matters outside working hours.
• Samples arriving outside of working hours may be rejected, as the test requires a fresh sample.

PATIENT INSTUCTIONS FOR SAMPLE COLLECTION

• An appointment must be made prior to proceeding to sample collection
• Collect in a sterile collection jar.
• Avoid intercourse for 2-7 days.
• Write full name, date of birth, date and time of sample collection on jar
• Produce sample by mastrubation without any lubricant or water.
• Sample can be produced at Andrology Unit. If collected at home or other hospital, must be delivered to Androlgy Unit within 60 minutes of collection. Ìý
• Transport at room temperature.
• Do not place on hot or cold surface
  

LAB NOTES:Ìý

• If the sample arrives at a laboratory other than Andrology, immediately contact Andrology Lab at 8345 3992. Samples must arrive at the Andrology Lab by 3pm (Mon-Fri).
• Store samples at room temperature. DO NOT FREEZE.

Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýSPECIMEN RECEPTION STAFF INSTRUCTIONS:Ìý

• Sample is deemed as urgent and should arrive at the Andrology Lab within 1 hour. Transport at room temperature.
• For External samples: Register samples under the TAN test code and forward the sample to the Andrology Lab with next courier run.
• For Inpatient samples: Register samples using the EPIC/EMR order number and add the TAN test code for tracking purposes, then forward to Andrology Lab.
