Whole bloodÌý(Preferred tube): Citrate PFA (Acqua blue cap);Ìýavailable from Pathology Collection orÌýSpecimen ReceptionÌýafter-hours. Collect a 'discard' tube as first tube.

Do NOT send sample via pneumatic tube.Do NOT place on ice - maintain at room temperature. Must be hand delivered. Must arrive in laboratory within 1 hr collection.

LAB NOTES:ÌýDO NOT SPIN specimen

Forward specimen to RCH HAEMATOLOGY workstation.Test within 4hrs of collection.

RWH: Send to RCH Haematology with a specimen forwarding form in an 'urgent' red biohazard bag within testing timeframe. Notify RCH Coag 9345 5822 on dispatch.Ìý
