Requesting this test provides a screening result only. Use this test when a screen for HLA antibodies is required. Also use for screening for cytotoxic antibodies.

If the patient fits any of the following reasons then please order HLA Antibodies – Specificity Identification instead

• Where HLA antibodies have been detected previously

• Testing for Pre/Post Transplant�� Donor Specific Antibodies (DSA)

• Where antibody mediated rejection is suspected

• Following a sensitising event in a transplant patient

• Patients refractory to platelet transfusion

VTIS request form no longer required to be filled out if requesting “HLA Antibodies – screen only” through EPIC.
