    Online workshop

    Engaging Families: Building and sustaining helpful relationships with parents - 3 hours online

    Strong relationships with families help to promote positive parent-child relationships and early learning environments and experiences for children.Ìý This series of on-line seminars (2ÌýxÌý90Ìýminutes) is designed to equip professionals with the confidence and tools necessary engage withÌýparentsÌýwho may have find services difficult to access.Ìý


    What does Engaging Families involve?Ìý

    Through thisÌýseries ofÌýworkshops participantsÌýwill:Ìý

    • explore the concept of parent engagement from the perspective of families who find it difficult to access early years servicesÌý
    • Understand the barriers and enablers of parent/practitioner engagementÌý
    • Be equipped withÌýstrategies and approaches toÌýenhanceÌýengagementÌýbetweenÌýfamilies and early years services.Ìý

    Course outcome:ÌýParticipants are able to identify and employ strategies to promote and support parent engagement within early years servicesÌý

    Please note:ÌýAll training is participatory and highly interactive. Participants attending online workshops are asked to have cameras turned on throughout the session with a preference for one participant per screen.ÌýÌý

    Date: 22 & 29 April 2024

    Face-to-face workshops

    Engaging Families: Building and sustaining helpful relationships with parents - 3 hour workshop

    Face-to-face workshop: $245Ìýper participant (incl. GST).ÌýFullÌýworkshop exclusively for a service with a minimumÌýof 9 and maximum of 15 participants:Ìý$3,675 (incl. GST) per workshop plus travel expenses and travelÌýtime.

    Engaging Families: Building and sustaining helpful relationships with parents - 1 day workshop

    The one-day workshop coversÌýthe learning objectives from the three-hour workshop ²¹²Ô»åÌýincludes explorations of family ecology,Ìýworker and service characteristics that support parent engagement, and strategies to promote engagement within and across services.

    Learning objectives

    To increase participants’ understanding of:

    • engagement as a term that lacks uniform definition;
    • ‘engagement’ as a culture of practice;
    • worker and service characteristics that support parent engagement; and
    • strategies to promote engagement within and across services

    Course outcome:ÌýParticipants are able to identify and employ strategies to promote and support parent engagement within and across services.
